CURRICULUM

Introduction

ECI-ELP is an Intensive English Language Program designed to prepare non-native speakers of English with the necessary language skills to achieve academic and social success in American colleges and universities. The Program consists of twelve (12) levels plus four (4) Superior English classes, plus 16 academic elective classes.

Each session is four (4) weeks long and corresponds to one of the levels above. ESL 101 assumes no prior knowledge of English and completion of ESL 304 indicates language-level readiness for entry into American academia. When a student is accepted into our program, that student is administered an initial placement test, and the results of the placement test will help E.C.I. to place each student in the appropriate level that corresponds with their current knowledge of English. The Academic Electives are assigned to levels each session and they play a vital role in the strengtheining of the skills in achieving the whole acquisition of the language.

DURING COVID AND POST COVID TIME, ECI TEMPORARILY ADJUSTED THE SCHEDULE THE CLASSES. HOWEVER, STARTING AUGUST 7, 2023 THE SCHEDULE OF CLASSES WILL BE AS SHOWN BELOW.

  • THIS SCHEDULE OFFERS 25 Academic hours per week (1 academic hour = 50 minutes)
  • Each session is four (4) weeks long.

ECI Dallas Campus (Farmers Branch, TX)
Because of the number of classrooms available, when there is a need for two(2) shifts, then the classes are conducted in two shifts (groups). Shift 1 is from 9:30 - 2:30 Monday through Thursday and 9:30-12:30 on Friday, and Shift 2 is from 12:00 - 5:00 Monday through Thursday and 9:30 -12:30 on Friday.
