Short Cultural Programs

 

 

TOEFL PREPARATION

 

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Duration: Two to three months, as required
Focus:
Listening, reading, and grammar

 

Each student lives with a qualified volunteer host family to practice English and become acquainted with American life. The host family is also eager to learn about the student's culture and the history of their country.

Residence
Depending on the nature and needs of the group, housing may be in suite hotels, in university dormitories, or with host families.

Duration
Duration depends on the needs of the group. Typical programs last from two to five weeks.

Insurance
Accident and medial insurance are included. Dental and ophthalmologic services are excluded, except for services to alleviate pain. Pre-existing illnesses are not covered.

Tours
Weekend trips to such places as Dallas, Texas or Branson, Missouri, and interesting historical sites in Oklahoma.

Recreation
Facilities for swimming, golf, tennis, and other sports are available, and ECI will make arrangements for the use of these facilities. 

The student must not borrow money from any source.  An adequate amount of spending money is $150-250 per month. Students must comply with the rules and regulations of ECI as well as all state and federal laws of the Unites States.

 

SHORT CULTURAL PROGRAMS

 

THREE-WEEK SUMMER ENGLISH PROGRAM

Program Includes:

  • 15 hours of instruction per week in English language and American history.
  • Teaching by a skilled professor with many years in teaching English as a second language.
  • Weekend trips to interesting and historical sites.

 

ONE-MONTH UNIVERSITY INTRODUCTION PROGRAM

Locations:  Oklahoma City, Shawnee, and Rapid City (South Dakota)

Program Includes:

  • 15 hours of instruction per week in English language and American history.
  • Educational, cultural, and athletic benefits of the university environment.
  • Organized outings and trips, meetings with university staff to discuss academic possibilities.
